FIT INDIA MOVEMENT is a nation wide movement in INDIA to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES and SPORTS in their daily lives.

It was launched by PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA NARENDRA MODI at INDIRA GANDHI STADIUM in NEW DELHI on 29 AUGUST 2019 (NATIONAL SPORTS DAY ) .
Fit India was formed by SHRI SUPARNO SATPATHY in the year 1993 and it was incorporated as a company in the year 2000.

The INDIAN PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI, in his UN address suggested the date of 21 JUNE as it is the longest day of the year in the NORTHERN HEMISPHERE and shares a special significial in many parts of the world.

PM MODI says - The world is feeling the need for yoga more than ever due to the CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC and the ancient India practice is helping a large number of covid 19 patients across the globe in defeating the disease.
The Corona Virus specially attacks the respiratory system and "PRANAYAM” or breathing exercises help in strengthening the respiratory system the most.
